    Year 2 Transition Service

Each year, Year 2 take part in a transition service at St Martin's in the Bullring. The service has not taken place this year due to Covid-19. Instead, each school has been asked to join in with the virtual service. You may remember recording a call and reponse on Zoom to send to the diocese. Below is an outline of the service that we will watch together on Zoom at 11.30pm on Monday 13th July 2020.

The service will be introduced by Dean Matt who is the Dean of Birmingham. St George's and St Michael's will then say hello to everyone in different languages- we can all say hello back!

After that, they will play our greeting and we can join in with this as well.

"God is good, all the Time. All the time, God is good!" - Do you remember recording this a few weeks ago?

Next, The Deanery will Lead us in singing "Our God is a Great Big God!". We can all join in. Watch the video below to have a practise.

Our God is a Great Big God

After the song, there will be a bible reading and a prayer of thanks from St Alphege and Holly Hill. Next Dean Matt will do a short talk to all our Year 2s about moving to year 3 followed by the promises. We will respond to the promises with "I will".

As you move to Y3, will you promise to do your best for yourself and for God -

To be thankful every day for the good things in your life?

    All: I will

To live as God asks by being fair and just, and being a good friend to others?

    All: I will

To really try and keep going, at even the hard things?

    All: I will

Finally, we will pray and look at some of the work that Year 2 in Birmingham have done during their school year and over lock down. Some of you may spot your work!

Once we have finished watching the service, we will have a little sing-along and dance together before ending for the school year.

We can't wait to share this special celebration with you!

Love from Mrs Booker, Mrs Freeman and Miss Samra
