Hope

Romans 12:12

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Noah and the Flood

Remembering to have hope is important now more than ever. Lots of people have shared their own messages of hope for the future by making pictures of rainbows. Do you remember which Bible story has a rainbow as a message of hope for the future?

There are lots of things in life we can’t be sure about. We sometimes talk about “hoping” for something when we really want it to happen but we can't know that it will happen. The bible tells us that with faith our hope can be sure. We know that God will make sure that the things we hope for will happen if we trust in God.  The Bible says “Our hope is like an anchor for the soul, sure and secure.” (Hebrews 6:19) An anchor holds a ship firmly in place. The Bible says your hope should be like that.

The Bible tells us we can be sure that God loves us and will take care of us, because Jesus died and rose again for us. We can have confidence for the future, confidence in God and confidence in his promises.

Time for Reflection

What are your hopes for the future?
What are your hopes for this coming year?

What are your hopes for others?

Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you that you promise to be with us always.
Thank you that you promise to be with us in every situation.
When things are hard to understand, please give us strength, faith, perseverance and hope.
Amen.

Lord of all Hopefulness
